8-25-06 POW

Hello all and welcome back to the POW!!! I can't sum up the summer in one letter, so I'll just share a few pictures with you and bring you up to date.

For starters, Morgan moved away (WAAAA!!!!!). I can't believe how much we miss her. Her family moved back to Phoenix and we were lucky enough to keep her for two weeks while her parents found a house. We took her camping at Hanging Rock and had a blast! Here's Sidney on one of the rocks. Don't worry, she would have only fallen about 200 feet or so.

This is a picture taken after Alyssa finally let me cut her hair. All of the neighbor kids talked her into it, but she was still a bit nervous. After seeing all of the locks hit the floor she said she was OK with it so here she is. I was surprised how thick her hair actually was!

This was taken before the big hike to the top. It was a very long mile!!!

Most of you know how much they traveled this summer, but for those of you who don't, they went to Arkansas, Atlanta, the NC mountains, Michigan, Chicago and Wyoming. Too bad we couldn't get frequent flier miles for all of that!!

This picture is of the teenager and her braces. She was so excited to get them, she could hardly sleep! She got the top ones on in July and will get the bottom ones put on at a later date. She hasn't had much pain with them and has been very good about keeping them clean. She hasn't tried corn on the cob yet. I don't think she will. Do you like the teal and aqua rubber bands?

Now we're ready for the first day of school. I cheated and took their picture a day early. I've tried it on "the day of" and, well, it's not pretty. Too many bags under the eyes and two different wake-up times. Lys gets up at 6 for a 7am bus, and Sid gets up at 7 for an 8am bus. Lys will start tomorrow (Friday), but Sid gets to wait until Monday. They have been doing construction on their school and it's not done yet. Her school will start Monday.

OK, now I need your feedback. Let me know if you like this format of the POW or if you want me to do it the old way. Either one is fine with me! Until then, have a good day and I'll write again next week with stories from the first day of school.

Take care,

Amy and the girls
